| In anticipation of high demand for low-cost and small-sized RFID readers by the retail sector and supply chain management, the LSCM R&D Centre is collaborating with Echonix Co. Ltd to launch the Greater China’s first UHF RFID reader chip. The research period is from September 2013 until August 2014. The reader chip will feature low power consumption and small form factor. It is tailor-made for close-loop applications in Hong Kong and Mainland China markets. The IC chip design will be created for volume production and as a low-cost RFID reader solution. Since the retailing price of the RFID reader will be significantly reduced and the size of the reader will be smaller, enterprises can arrange every staff to have their own reader, for anti-counterfeiting, product authentication, or stock taking. |
