                            LSCM Logistics Summit 2024
                                                                                                The annual LSCM Logistics Summit concluded successfully on 10 October 2024 with more than 1,000 guests from the government, industry and academia joining the event on-site and industry practitioners from different regions in the Mainland joining online to explore the recent technology advancement that have been fostering the smart city development and driving the growth of digital economy under the theme of "From Smart City to Digital Economy".
The Summit not only facilitated the exchange of views and ideas among the tech community and the logistics industry, but also promoted technology development and adoption in various industries.

Logistics and Supply Chain MultiTech R&D Centre (LSCM) is committed to nurturing young talents through various programmes, such as the annual internship programme. This year, more than 25 interns from different local and overseas academic institutes have joined the LSCM team. To enhance the communication amongst the interns and the management, the event “Dialogue with CEO” hosted by Mr Simon Wong, Chief Executive Officer of LSCM, was held on 24 July 2024.During the event, Mr. Wong and the mentors from different teams shared their valuable experiences in leading the team members to overcome the challenges in the research projects. Mr. Wong emphasised that one of the major roles of LSCM is to engage the young generation in the R&D of technology, providing them with a platform to gain valuable experiences and explore the opportunities in the Innovation and Technology industry. He also encouraged the interns to set their own career goals. With the valuable exposure, most of the interns expressed strong interest in joining LSCM after their graduation.

                            49th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva
                                                                                                This year, the world-renowned International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva took place on 17 – 21 April 2024 in Geneva, Switzerland. Once again, LSCM’s commitment and expertise in technology R&D were acclaimed and recognised at this international event.
At the event, LSCM has won 1 gold medal, 3 silver medals and 4 bronze medals. The Hong Kong GNSS Signal Quality Monitoring and Interference Detection System, a collaborative project developed with The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, was awarded a gold medal. And the e-Publishing Platform which provides the functions of AI translation and audio production from text, was awarded a silver medal. The two other collaborative projects which also received the silver medals were the Computer Vision-enabled Digital Twin for Construction Resource and Progress Management developed in partnership with The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the Digital Twin, AI, Robotics, and IoT Empowered ESG Platform for Property and Facility Management Industries developed in partnership with The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. The other award-winning technologies were the e-SmartPort Platform (eSPP), AI in Assisting Crop Pest and Disease Control, Baby Tag and Baby Tracking Management Control System, and the Intrusion Detected Continuous Re-authentication (IDCRA) Technology.

                            InnoEX 2024
                                                                                                LSCM participated in the second edition of InnoEx co-organised by the Government of the HKSAR and Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) on 13 – 16 Apr 2024 to showcase the Centre’s latest Smart City technologies. The event focused on the next-generation smart solutions, cutting-edge technologies and disruptive innovations.
At the event, LSCM demonstrated a series of Smart City technologies including the Electronic Power Assist Trolley System, Tele-control Warehouse Stackers Using 5G, Smart Area-Wide Traffic Control System for better Mobility, and Baby Tag and Baby Tracking Management Control System. Dr CH Cheng, Director, Research & Technology, LSCM, also delivered a talk on “Smart Mobility, Smart City” to introduce LSCM’s technology which could enhance mobility and alleviate traffic congestions.  Many local visitors, as well as others from the Mainland and overseas visited the LSCM booth to learn about the showcased technologies.

                            Digital Economy Summit 2024
                                                                                                The Digital Economy Summit (DES) 2024 organised by the Government of the HKSAR and Cyberport was held on 12 – 13 Apr 2024. As one of the co-organisers of the Summit, LSCM partnered with Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) to organise the Smart Industrialisation & Supply Chain Forum (Forum) on the first day of the event. With the theme of "Transformative Technologies for Smart Manufacturing & Supply Chain Optimisation", the industry experts explored the immense potential of cutting-edge technologies in revolutionising the manufacturing industry and optimising supply chain operations, as well as boosting productivity and fostering sustainable practices, at the Forum.
At the event, LSCM also showcased two logistics technologies developed by the Centre, namely the Electronic Power Assist Trolley System and the Tele-control Warehouse Stackers Using 5G, at the Experience Zone. This allowed the guests to gain first-hand experience of the innovation which could be adopted for enhanced efficiency and productivity.

                            eHealth+ Briefing Session
                                                                                                The Health Bureau (HHB), Hospital Authority (HA) and LSCM jointly organised a briefing session on the  e-Health+ and eMedication Project on 25 March 2024, introducing the development of eHealth+ and explaining how the eMedication functions can help optimise the medication management system and protocol at the Residential Care Homes (RCHs). Jointly initiated by the HHB and the HA in collaboration with LSCM, the eMedication project supports RCHs and their electronic medication management system suppliers to implement system connections and improve information security. More than 600 representatives from the Residential Care Homes for the Elderly (RCHEs) and Residential Care Homes for Persons with Disabilities (RCHDs) joined the briefing session in person and online.
