LSCM Maritime Summit - Charting the Course: The Power of Digitalisation for Hong Kong to Build a Smarter Shipping Hub
In this year’s Asian Logistics, Maritime and Aviation Conference (ALMAC) organised by Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), LSCM again partnered with HKTDC to organise the LSCM Maritime Summit 2023 on 21 November. With the theme of "Charting the Course: The Power of Digitalisation for Hong Kong to Build a Smarter Shipping Hub", the speakers’ presentations and discussion centered around the development of Smart Port and logistics technology. At the Summit, LSCM signed a MoU with COSCO Shipping and The Chamber of Hong Kong Logistics Industry (CHKLI) to strengthen the collaboration among the three organisations in the development of Smart Port. LSCM also showcased a series of logistics technologies developed by the Centre at the ALMAC, encouraging the industry to adopt innovative technologies to enhance efficiency and productivity. The showcased technologies included the award-winning Electronic Power Assist Trolley System, Cold Chain Robot, Tele-Control Warehouse Stackers Using 5G, as well as the e-Smart Port Platform.

LSCM recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Limited from Japan, which sets a significant milestone for closer collaboration in the development of Smart Port Platform to facilitate the digitalization in the logistics industry.

The LSCM representatives introduced the Centre’s latest technologies to the guests, such as Electronic Power Assist Trolley System, Autonomous Guided Vehicles(AGV), AIoT Herbal Picking and Delivery System for Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, Tele-Control Warehouse Stacker Using 5G, Virtual Reality (VR) System for Strategic Operation Training, and more.

48th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva
The 48th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva was held on 26 - 30 April 2023. LSCM is excited to have won one gold medal, and one silver medal and four bronze medals at the event. The Electronic Power Assist Trolley System was awarded the gold medal whilst the RFID Device (Two-piece device for Tolling Application) was awarded the silver medal. The four technologies that have won the bronze medals are the Automated Concrete Cube Testing System, AIoT Herbal Picking and Delivery System for Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, Vehicle Detection and Alert System for Better Mobility and AI Vision Technology for Heat Source Detection to Enhance the Effectiveness of Automated Hill fire Surveillance.

LSCM recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Guangdong Electronic Port Management Co., Ltd, Guangzhou Institute of Software, and CS Intelligence (Guangdong) Information Technology Co., Ltd to strengthen the cooperation in the research and development of logistics and supply chain platform technology to facilitate global trade and smart port development.
