The International ICT Expo 2022 organised by Hong Kong Trade Development Council was held on 13- 16 October 2022 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. This year, LSCM showcased four smart city technologies at the Expo, which included the Smart Traffic Signal Control System, Seat Occupancy and Seat Belt Fastening Detection System, Outdoor IoT Sensing Network and Data Management Platform for Tree Management and Smart Barrier System.

The visitors were impressed by the demonstrated technologies as they could provide more convenience to our daily life and workplaces.

Organised by the Innovation and Technology Commission (ITC), the InnoCarnival 2022 took place at the Hong Kong Science Park on 22-30 October 2022 to promote Innovation and Technology (I&T) culture in the community.

LSCM participated in the event and utilised the MaxBot developed by the Centre and haptic technology to design two interactive technology games including the range shooting game and VR waste sorting game for the public to enjoy the fun of using technology. The interactive games attracted many visitors to the LSCM booth.

Jointly hosted by the Government of the HKSAR and the Hong Kong Council of Social Service, and co-organised with the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, the Gerontech and Innovation Expo cum Summit was held on 2 – 5 November 2022. It provided a platform for the elderly and rehabilitation service sector and the public to explore and learn about various gerontechnology and solutions.

At the Expo, LSCM showcased a number of the Centre’s latest gerontechnology. Visitors were attracted to the LSCM booth to experience and learn about the Tele-Practice Platform, Robo-9, Follow-me Robot, Elderly Lifter, Maxbot and 3D LiDAR Bed Monitoring System, etc.

The Inno@E&M Open Day 2022 organised by the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) was held on 4 – 6 November 2022 at the EMSD Headquarters . It consists of exhibition booths for showcasing I&T solutions, theme tours and STEM workshops, etc. At the event, Maxbot was showcased in the exhibition to let the public learn more about LSCM’s robotics technologies.

The LOGTECH Expo 2022 organised by Transport and Logistics Bureau and implemented by Hong Kong Productivity Council was held on 28 – 29 November 2022 at HKPC Building. The event aimed to keep local logistics SMEs abreast of the latest technological trends of the sector.

At the Expo, Dr Venus Lun, Special Project Director of LSCM, gave a presentation about the Smart Port Platform developed by LSCM. And the Centre also showcased the Maxbot which is suitable to be used in different workplaces to deliver items efficiently. Many visitors came to the LSCM booth to enquire about the features of the Maxbot and explored collaboration opportunities.

The InnoTech Expo 2022 organised by Our Hong Kong Foundation took place on 12 – 22 December 2022 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre to demonstrate the Mainland’s latest innovation and technology development, as well as to showcase a number of technologies developed by Hong Kong’s research institutes and universities. LSCM is excited that the Centre’s AIoT Herbal Picking and Delivery System for Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital was selected by the organiser as one of the showcases at the Expo. A lot of visitors were attracted to the LSCM booth to learn about the system.

The LSCM team also visited the Expo on 16 December 2022 to explore the innovation and technology at the Expo.
